Popovers without a popover pan!
Popovers are my fave. They are fluffy, buttery, and full of carbs. Who wouldn't love that combo? This particular popover recipe is my favorite because you can utilize just a regular old muffin tin rather than purchasing a fancy popover pan. The less gadgets cluttering my kitchen, the better, right?

My husband was utterly impressed impressed by this recipe and ate half the pan before I could even try one! They were even better when topped with our Lavender Apple Honey found HERE.

Ingredients:
1 cup whole milk
2 eggs
tablespoon butter, melted
1 cup flour
1/4 teaspoon salt

In a blender, mix everything together until it looks frothy. Let the popover batter rest while the oven pre-heats to 450 degrees. Use a large muffin tin pan that serves 6. Put the empty muffin tin in the oven for 2 minutes to warm it up. Remove it from the oven and melt an extra 2 tablespoons of butter in the microwave, and then divide the butter between the cups. Pulse the batter in the blender once more to make it bubble and then fill each cup. Bake for 15 minutes. Resist the urge to open the oven door while they bake or you will unpop your popovers. Reduce the heat to 350 degrees and bake for another 15 minutes. Your popovers should be golden brown and dry to the touch and sound hollow when you tap on them.

Eat and enjoy! I'm hungry just thinking about it!
Italian Soda Bar & Other Church Party Ideas
I have been blessed to attend a church with ladies who like to party, (in the most fun gospel approved sense of the word party of course)! These pinterest packin' mommas are so fun to plan plot and party with. Here are just a few of the fun events they/we have put together this past year.

An Italian Soda Bar themed party. Make sure to include instructions so your guests know how to assemble their drink options. We had plenty of choices and added some cute "pun-ny" signs like "we are soda-lighted to be your friend!"

Don't forget to include our Lavender Simple Syrup! People love trying new things at parties and this is an item that when added to drinks makes flavors like nothing you have tasted before. Your guests will love the unique twist on traditional soda bars.

Simple citrus and water filled vases, stacked cookies, and fresh flowers made the tables fill super festive.

We did a little speed dating where one side of the table got up and scooted down one chair every couple of minutes so the women could all spend time getting to know one another.

And how about this awesome Christmas Party Natalie put together? She is so amazing and literally transformed our church. Look at those balls hung to resemble oversized ornaments?

It was "Christmas Breakfast" themed, so everyone came in their pajamas and enjoyed a delicious breakfast, complete with several cereal bars!

We also had a back to nauvoo night where we celebrated our pioneer ancestors. Stacks of vintage books, lace and antiques as table settings, and homemade pies were created this night. See our Lavender Apple Lemon Meringue Pie HERE

Its so fun to host such wonderful gatherings with such wonderful friends. Let me know if you have any questions about specific details or recipes. I am happy to help!
The best uses for Lavender Essential Oil

There are so many different types of essential oils out there these days. If you are new user of essential oils, you may wonder what types of oils you should invest in. Surprisingly, when I ask essential oil users, if you could only use one essential oil ever again, which one would you choose? Their answer is consistently Lavender oil! It is the most versatile of all the oil options.

Lavender essential oil is most commonly known for its relaxing effects on the body. You've most likely had it used on you during a massage. You've probably smelt it permeating the spa. Therapeutic grade lavender oil is actually highly regarded for the skin as well. You can use it to clean cuts and bruises, and calm skin irritations. The fragrance is relaxing, calming, and can bring balance. You will feel it both physically and emotionally. I've heard people say that carrying around a bottle of lavender essential oil is like carrying you own personal first aid kit, perfume, and pick-me-up all in one!

Here are some of our favorite Lavender Essential Oil uses:

1. Calming agent and Sleep Aid
Rub 2-3 drops of lavender oil in your cupped palms and inhale the sent deeply. Then rub a drop onto your pillow and drift into a relaxed dreamland. You could also do this technique in crowded areas like planes or shopping malls.

2. Bug bitesPut a single drop of Lavender oil on an insect bite. You should see an immediate reduce in swelling. This will also help to stop the itching.

3. Burn ointmentFor minor burns you can use 1-2 drops of lavender oil to decrease pain.  It should also reduce swelling, redness, and pain.

4. EczemaYou can mix a few drops of Lavender oil with coconut oil and use it topically on eczema and dermatitis.

5. Nausea and motion sicknessMy pregnant friends swear by this. To alleviate nausea symptoms, place a drop of Lavender oil on the end of your tongue, around your belly button, or behind the ears. It should clear up any motion sickness the same way.

6. DandruffYou can add a few drops of lavender oil to your conditioner. When you rub it on your scalp it will help to eliminate dandruff.

7. Chapped or sunburned lips
Rub a drop of lavender oil on chapped or sunburned lips and the moisture of the oil will help cure the dryness.

These are just my top 7 favorite practical ways to use lavender oil. There are so so many more! When I have more time I will sit down and get you a bigger list. But this should start you on the right path!
