Throw Back
Peggy was the one that dreamed up the idea of starting and running a lavender business. But if it wasn't for Mike Nelson and his lovely forefathers you homesteaded this farm land, the Lavender Apple would never have come to fruition. Here is a lovely throw back photo for you of Mike and his Father Don back in the day at the Lavender Apple before the Lavender Apple ever existed.

Today Peggy is the heart and soul of the Lavender Apple, but we couldn't do it without the support of this guy right here and our lovely family farm.
Lavender Honey Bees
As you probably have probably heard, the worlds precious honey bee populations are in a drastic decline. Not only do we depend on them as lavender farmers, but the world in general depend on them for our lives. Without bees there would be no fruits or vegetables. Without plants, there would be no we. So lets do our part to take care of and save the bees.

Three easy ways you can help save the bees:
1. Plant! Plant flowers, herbs, anything that pollinates. Even if you live in a huge high-rise apartment, even a single window planter can help.
2. Buy local! Support your local farmers that in turn support your local beehives.
3. Don't use pesticides. Sure, they keep the bad bugs out, but they are also killing our most useful bug friends.

We sure love our black and yellow friends around here, and hope you will join us in the fight to stop their population decline. Hope you have a bee-utiful day!

Lavender Blossoms
You know what? Sometimes I just like to go read my favorite blogs simply to look at pretty pictures. Sure a nice story or thought is nice, but really? I'm just in it for the visual vacation. So today, without further adieu, here are just some pretty pictures of the first blossoms of our fields this year, just because we like ya.

Lavender is known for its' soothing properties, so hopefully just a virtual gaze will help you have a little relaxation in your day. Have a good one!
